The KonMari Method™

More than a method, it's a philosophy

The KonMari Method™ is a state of mind and lifestyle that transforms the way you relate to your belongings with the intent to cherish the things in your life that bring you joy.

It encourages tidying by category – not by location – beginning with clothes, then moving on to books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items), and finally sentimental items. Keeping only those things that bring you joy, and discard items that no longer serve you. We thank them for their service – then let them go.

People everyday are drawn to this method, aside from its effectiveness, because it is a mindful and introspective approach.

Marie Kondo

Started an organizing consultant business as a 19-year-old university student living in Tokyo to help people transform their cluttered homes into spaces of serenity and inspiration. Through her experience and attention to detail she designed and developed the now famous KonMari Method™ for decluttering homes.

Marie Kondo is now an international best-selling author with her books published in over 40 countries and millions of copies sold.

She founded KonMari Inc. in 2015 and has since committed to organizing the world and sparking joy in people's lives. One of the ways in which KonMari Inc. expands its reach is through their community of Certified KonMari Consultants. That's where I come in!
